Super Cheap Auto boots profit

The company that owns the Super Cheap Auto chain has lifted its half year profits by 40%.

The Australian-listed Super Retail Group, which also runs 10 Fishing Camping Outdoor stores in New Zealand, made $A34.9 million in the final six months of 2011, compared with $24.9 million in the same period a year earlier.

Sales rose 35% to $759 million.
