Yellow Pages to cut jobs

8:25 am on 28 February 2012

Yellow Pages Group plans to cut 125 jobs as it moves more of its business online.

Chief executive Simon Pomeroy says a consultation process is underway with staff located in its nine offices around the country.

He said the company's business model has changed as it delivers online products as well as the Yellow Pages book, and fewer staff are needed.

He says the company will look to relocate some staff to newly created roles in its Auckland office.

The company, which is owned by a consortium of banks, has offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Napier, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

The White Pages division of the company is unaffected by the planned cuts.
