The sharemarket ended Tuesday's trading down, with the NZX50 closing down 9 points to 3330.
Among the major share movements, Fletcher Building was down 1 cent to $6.71, Telecom gained 3.5 cents to close at $2.17, Chorus was down 2 cents at $3.29, and Contact was down 4 cents to $4.80.
Sky City Entertainment gained 11 cents to $3.64 and Sky Television shed 2 cents to $5.05.
Tower was unchanged at $1.49.
In the currency markets, at 5.20pm, the New Zealand dollar was trading at 82.95 US cents, 77.70 Australian, 52.81 pence, 64.56 yen, and 0.6306 euro.
The TWI stood at 73.13.
