The NZX50 closed up 21 points to 3348 on turnover of $123 million on Friday.
In Australia the ASX 200 was down 22 points at 4261
Among the major share movements, Fletcher Building ended up at 17 cents to $6.75, Telecom shed 1 cent to $2.15, Chorus was up 2 cents at $3.33, and Contact ended down12 cents at $4.93.
Sky City Entertainment was up 1 cent at $3.52, Sky Television was up 1 cent at $5.09.
Tower was unchanged at $1.50 as was Port of Tauranga at $10.70.
Hallenstein Glasson was up 6 cents to $3.73, The Warehouse was down 2 cents to $2.69 and Pumpkin Patch was up one cent at 82 cents.
In the currency markets at 5.20 pm the NZ dollar was buying 83.11 US cents, 77.46 Australian, 52.60 pence, 64.50 yen and 0.6265 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 72.88.
