Wall St up

Wall St stocks have risen, as investors await the outcome of discussions on a bailout package for Greece.

The Dow Jones Index on Tuesday was up 36 points at 12,881 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 3 points at 2905.

Earlier, the FTSE 100 in London fell 0.2%, the DAX in Frankfurt fell 0.1% and the CAC-40 in Paris edged up 0.1%.

The Australian 200 Index fell 22 points, or 0.5%, to close at 4274 and the NZX 50 rose 3 points to close at 3315.

At 8.10am on Wednesday, the New Zealand dollar was trading at 83.46 US cents, 77.35 Australian cents, 52.53 pence, 64.19 yen and 0.6301 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.0.

Brent crude oil was trading at $US117.19 per barrel and gold was trading at $US1742 per ounce.
