New Zealand market down on Friday

The benchmark NZX50 index closed down 2 points to 3312 on turnover of $78 million on Friday.

In currency markets at 5.20pm, the NZ dollar was at 83.1 US, 77.77 Australian cents, 52.57 pence, 63.31 yen and 0.633 euro.

The Trade Weighted Index was at 72.93.

Fletcher Building was down 2 cents at $6.41, Telecom was up 2 cents at $2.18, Chorus was up 2 cents at $3.31 and Contact Energy was up 2 cents to $4.82.

Sky City Entertainment was down 2 cents at $3.48, Sky Network TV was down 3 cents to $5.23 and The Warehouse was down 10 cents to $2.95 after saying margins have been squeezed.

Port of Tauranga was down 1 cent to $10.50.

Cavalier Corp was up 5 cents to $2.45 and Refining NZ was down 5 cents to $2.85.

Restaurant Brands was up 2 cents at $1.97, OceanaGold was up 3 cents to $3.26 and Tower was up 7 cents to $1.48.

Hallenstein Glasson was down 9 cents to $3.56.
