Australia's richest person Gina Reinhart is trying to obtain a larger stake in Fairfax Media.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Mrs Reinhart approached fund managers on Tuesday night in a $A192 million attempt to acquire a further 10% stake in Fairfax, largest independent media group in Australia.
If successful, the billionaire mining heiress would own 14% of the company and possibly have a seat on the board.
Mrs Reinhart already owns 10% of the Ten Network, where she is a director.
