Guest nights in short term commercial accommodation fell 1.5% in November on a year earlier, the second consecutive monthly decline.
International guest nights fell 3.3%, caused mainly by a large fall in Canterbury guest nights, while domestic guest nights were steady.
North Island guest nights rose 1.7%, while South Island guest nights fell 5.9%.
Otago and Wellington guest nights rose, but only partly offset falls in the Canterbury and Auckland regions.
