Credit card billings in New Zealand rose in October at their fastest rate in nine months, coinciding with the Rugby World Cup.
Reserve Bank of New Zealand data shows total billings rose a seasonally adjusted 2.6% in October after a revised 1.3% gain in August.
Billings were 7.9% higher than a year earlier, from an annual gain of 5.3% in the previous month.
