NZ market up on Thursday

The New Zealand stockmarket closed up on Thursday.

The NZX50 index was up nearly 3 points, or 0.08%, at 3311 on Thursday.

At 5.20pm, the NZ dollar was at 78.3 US, 76.40 Australian cents, 49.27 pence, 61.18 yen and 0.5721 euro.

The Trade Weighted Index was at 68.84.

Telecom was up 0.5 cents to $2.615, Fletcher Building was unchanged at $6.45 and Contact Energy was down 3 cents at $5.65.

PGG Wrightson was unchanged at 41 cents after saying it'll get the business back to an even keel at its annual meeting on Wednesday.

Sky City Entertainment was unchanged at $3.40 and Sky Network TV was down 5 cents at $5.45.

Air New Zealand was up 1 cent at $1.05 and Auckland Airport was up 1 cent at $2.35.

Mainfreight was up 5 cents at $9.77 and Nuplex was up 3 cents at $2.64 after holding its annual meeting in Auckland on Wednesday.

Vector was up 5 cents at $2.57.

Infratil was down 2 cents to $1.82.

The Warehouse was up 2 cents at $3.27 after going ex dividend.

Westpac was up 9 cents to $28.19. It reported a stronger full year result due to higher income and a fall in bad debt on Wednesday.
