Ten aviation innovations are being unveiled at a three day expo near Hamilton timed to coincide with the Rugby World Cup.

NZ Flair 2011 is aimed at stimulating growth, development and investment in the $10 billion industry.

Aviation Industry Cluster general manager Shaun Mitchell says the event is a chance to showcase the thousands of home-grown products and services.

He says all aspects of the aviation industry are being promoted such as the supply chain, manufacturers and training advisors.

Among the innovations on show is a new kit helicopter made by Auckland firm Composite Helicopter.

Mr Mitchell says it is the first fully composite helicopter in the world which shows off New Zealand's capabilities.

He says key investors are visiting New Zealand during the Rugby World Cup.

The event at Te Kowhai Airfield is open to the public on Friday and Saturday.
