BurgerFuel chain says it's poised for growth in NZ

The listed burger chain, BurgerFuel, says economic conditions remain fragile and uncertain, but it's poised for growth in the New Zealand market.

The firm told shareholders at its annual meeting on Wednesday that New Zealand sales so far this year are higher than last year, and it will identify sites for possible new stores in the coming months.

BurgerFuel says the Australian market has been disappointing and expensive, and while it has potential and it is still on its radar, it's focussing its efforts elsewhere.

Instead the Middle East remains a prime focus for further expansion, and the chain now has stores in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, and soon will soon open one in Iraq.
