Buller Coal has appointed Brightwater Engineering to build a coal processing plant.
The plant will process coal from a proposed coal project in the south of the Denniston Plateau in the Buller District.
The Buller coal project is expected to create about 225 jobs and $30 million per year in salaries and wages, for Westport and the wider West Coast region.
