Alcoa says higher aluminum prices helped push up its profit in the first three months of the year.
The company made $US308-million in the March quarter, a turnaround from a loss of $US201 million in the same period a year ago.
Revenue rose 22% to $US6 billion, with prices rising more than 30% in the past year.
There has been growing demand for aluminum products for packaging, automotive, transportation and industrial products.
