The volume of manufacturing sales rose 3.3% in the December quarter.
Meat and dairy products, chemical polymer and rubber, and metal product manufacturing all lead the increase.
The biggest fall in sales was in wood and paper products, down 4.2%.
The figures were delayed by the Christchurch earthquake on 22 February.
