NZ market up, Australian down

The New Zealand stock market is up, but the Australian market was down on Tuesday morning.

At 12.50pm, the NZX 50 index was up 10 points, or 0.3%, to 3330 on turnover of $54 million.

Fletcher Building was down 2 cents to $8.18, Telecom was unchanged at $2.09 and Contact Energy was unchanged at $5.85.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances was unchanged at 60c and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 1c to $3.32.

Auckland International Airport Ltd was down 1c to $2.10 and Air New Zealand was down 1c to $1.30. Sky City Entertainment was up 3c to $2.94.

NZX was up 5c to $1.60.

New Zealand Oil & Gas was up 2c to $1.28 after production resumed at its Pateke well in offshore Taranaki.

The Warehouse was up 5c to $4.05, Hallenstein Glasson was down 5c to $4.40 and Pumpkin Patch was down 3c to $1.97.

Across the Tasman, the ASX 200 was down 14 points to 4697.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 75.1 US cents, 75.92 Australian cents, 47.85 pence, 60.77 yen and 0.5395 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 66.59.
