The Commerce Commission has appointed Brent Alderton as its new chief executive.
Mr Alderton, the commission's general manager of regulation, will take on the role at the beginning of next year,
He succeeds Nicholas Hill who is leaving the commission at the end of this year to set up an office in Auckland for consulting company MartinJenkins.
