NZ and Australian stock markets up

The New Zealand stock market was up on Wednesday morning.

By 12.22pm, the NZX50 index was up 3 points to 3200 on turnover of $24 million.

Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index was up 22 points at 4651.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 73.47 US cents, 78.01 Australian cents, 47.21 pence, 61.04 yen and 0.5641 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 67.37.

Fletcher Building was up 2 cents to $8.50, Contact Energy was unchanged at $5.75, and Telecom was unchanged at $2.06.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances was up 2c to 58c and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was up 3c to $2.94. Tower was unchanged at $1.95.

Sky City Entertainment was up 3c to $2.89 and Sky Network Television was down 2c to $5.18.

New Zealand Oil & Gas was down 6c to $1.26. The Warehouse was up 1c to $3.74 and Ecoya was down 2c to 80c.
