Micro fall for New Zealand market

The NZX 50 index closed down just 1 point to 3249 on the New Zealand sharemarket on Tuesday.

Fletcher Building was down 3 cents to $8.35, Telecom up 3 cents to $2.16, and Contact Energy down 8 points to $6.18.

Auckland International Airport was unchanged at $1.92 as was Air New Zealand, at $1.26.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare rose 3 cents to $3.28, and Fisher & Paykel Appliances rose 1 cent to 62 cents.

Sky City Entertainment was down 2 cents to $3.20, and Sky Television down 1 cent to $5.32.

Rises included Infratil by 4 cents to $1.72, The Warehouse by 1 cent to $3.78 and Pumpkin Patch by 4 cents to $2.20. Hallenstein Glasson was unchanged at $3.39.

In currency markets, the New Zealand dollar was buying 71.05 US, 77.30 Australian, 47.38 pence, 65.50 yen, and 0. 5268 euro. The TWI was at 65.98.
