NZ investors find reasons for cheer

Optimism among New Zealand's wealthy investors has improved in recent months, but still lags behind that of other countries.

Of those polled in ING's Investor Dashboard Survey, 71% felt economic conditions had improved over the third quarter, up from 25% in the second quarter.

Almost three-quarters of investors expected conditions to improve in the current quarter.

ING investment strategist Stuart Millar says the jump in overall sentiment is due to continued positive economic momentum and better domestic equity market performance.

New Zealand ranks 11th of the 13 pan-Asian countries surveyed, Mr Millar said.
