Macquarie trust to sell property portfolio in US

Macquarie CountryWide Trust, which is managed by Australia's biggest investment bank, will sell its property portfolio in the United States for $A1.3 billion to pay down debt.

The trust, which invests predominantly in supermarket shopping centres, says the sale will have a negative impact on earnings.
