Wellington International Airport Ltd says patronage was mixed in January.
The owner of the company, Infratil, says domestic passenger numbers were down 10%, while those travelling overseas rose 10% - mainly due to more flights to Brisbane.
Infratil also says its airports in Scotland and Britain had fewer passengers and freight.
Separately, the numbers of passengers using its bus services in Auckland and Wellington grew in January.
