The number of businesses in New Zealand continues to rise.
In 2008, there are an estimated 471,000 companies running in New Zealand, up by 1.5% on the previous year.
Statistics New Zealand says one in every five businesses will be found in the rental, hiring and real estate sectors.
The Government agency also says 97% of these operations have fewer than 20 employees.
