Ringing in Global Money Week

9:00 pm on 9 March 2015

Global Money Week is officially underway following today's kick-off at the stock exchange.

Almost 30 students from North Auckland schools were on hand at the opening bell to learn more about the sharemarket and to question the experts, including Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Paul Goldsmith, the retirement commissioner and NZX's chief executive Tim Bennett.

Mr Goldsmith said Global Money Week was aimed at young people but it wasn't just the kids that needed to be concerned with financial security.
