Transport firm installs Eroad system

3:16 pm on 2 September 2014

New Zealand's largest privately-owned transport company has begun installing Eroad's management system across its entire fleet of more than 1600 trucks.

Transport Investments (TIL) delivers fuel all over New Zealand, via its subsidiary Pacific Fuel Haul.

It also controls freight carriers, Hooker Pacific, Roadstar, and Actus Transport which delivers bulk animal feed.

Eroad sells technology to manage road user charges for trucks and provides other services, related to such things as health and safety requirements.

The major shareholder and chief executive, Steven Newman, says the deal is an important one to the newly-listed company.

He said it was a big responsiblity but also a huge endorsement of the firm.

The value of the contract between ERoad and TIL is confidential.
