Craigs cleans up INFINZ awards

6:50 am on 9 May 2014

Stockbroking firm Craigs Investment Partners has cleaned up in the Institute of Finance Professionals (Infinz) awards.

It was always going to win the research analyst of the year award since all three finalists work at the firm. Arie Dekker was judged the winner.

But Craigs also won the sharebroking firm of the year award.

Its founder, Neil Craig, is also chairman of the honey company, Comvita, which won the best corporate communicator award for small companies.

Contact Energy won the best corporate communicator award for larger companies.

Ebos took out the merger and acquisitions transaction of the year award for its acquisition of Symbion, a transaction that catapulted the company to the ranks of the nation's largest listed companies.

Ebos managing director Mark Waller also won the leadership award.

Abano Healthcare lost out on both categories it was nominated for although the facts of those nominations was still ironic, given the mud-slinging the company is currently enduring from a couple of disaffected shareholders, including former director Peter Hutson.
