Daily Paraparaumu - Christchurch air service coming

11:44 am on 12 July 2013

Air New Zealand will expand its services to the Kapiti Coast from November when it will fly daily between Paraparaumu and Christchurch.

The new service, operated by Air Nelson, an Air New Zealand subsidiary, will provide more than 36,000 direct seats per year between the two regions.

Air Nelson general manager Darin Stringer said a survey of the 110,000 people living in the Paraparaumu catchment found more people nominated Christchurch as the next destination of choice, than all other possible destinations combined.

Christchurch airport chief executive Jim Boultm said the new service is a positive sign for the recovery of Christchurch and Canterbury.
