Consumer confidence has remained high, with people feeling more upbeat about the the economy in the coming year.
The ANZ-Roy Morgan monthly survey of sentiment edged up to 123.9 in June, well above the historical average of 116.5.
A reading above 100 shows optimism.
ANZ says respondents feel marginally better off financially, though slightly less optimistic about their own financial prospects, and whether it's a good time to buy a major household item.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the index rose 3 points to 127, the fourth successive monthly increase.
