Air New Zealand is increasing the number of seats it offers between Wellington - Queenstown for the winter ski season, to replace some of the capacity that Jetstar recently withdrew.
The airline will increase the capacity by nearly 50% per week on the route, much of which will come from upgrading flights from the 68-seat ATR turboprop aircraft to the Boeing 737-300 jets which seat 133.
Earlier this year, the trans-Tasman alliance of Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia announced an additional 30,000 extra seats between Queenstown - Australia over the peak winter season of July to September.
