Cancer diagnostic specialist Pacific Edge has won its first contract from a New Zealand District Health Board for its high-tech non-invasive bladder cancer test.

MidCentral DHB, based in Palmerston North, will begin using the test in June.

It says it will evaluate 400 patients over two years to determine the tool's worth and to establish the levels of savings that could be made.

Pacific Edge says it's also in discussion with another DHB.
