Auckland International Airport has become the first airport in the world to partner with China's leading social media website Sina Weibo.
The move will allow New Zealand tourism-related businesses and airline services to be marketed to an audience of more than 500 million people.
China is currently the fastest growing tourism market for New Zealand and Sina Weibo is a micro-blog similar to Twitter and has a similar market penetration in China to Twitter's in the United States.
Airport chief executive Adrian Littlewood says the partnership will significantly extend the airport's marketing reach in China in promoting destinations and special travel deals.
