Fairfax Media has sold its rural press businesses in the United States for $US79.9 million.
Fairfax Rural Press (USA) includes the Farm Progress and Miller Publishing Company businesses, which were separate to the company's Australian and New Zealand businesses.
AAP reports Fairfax acquired the US business in 1997. It has been sold to Penton Media, which is owned by private equity firms.
