Super Fund reaches end-of-month record high

The New Zealand Superannuation Fund has reached an end-of-month record high of $20.08 billion last month.

Since the fund was set up in 2003, the Government has invested $14.88 billion into it and the return, after fees and before tax, is 7.57% per annum.

Over this period the fund has also returned $2.32 billion to the Crown in tax.

The fund will start paying out money towards super payments from around 2029.
