The value of trades in shares and other securities on the New Zealand stock exchange rose in August - though the total number fell.
NZX says the total value of trades was $2.9 billion, an increase of 10% compared with the same period a year ago.
The number of trades fell 14% to 74,210.
Market capitalisation rose 7% to $61.1 billion, or 29.7% of gross domestic product.
