Contact Energy's customer numbers have edged up. The company had 443,500 electricity customers and 62,500 gas customers in June, 1000 more than in the previous month.
Contact generated 987 gigawatt hours of power in June, compared with 977 gigawatt hours in May and 816 gigawatt hours in the same month last year.
Hydro storage in the South Island was at 81% mean levels at the end of the month, while North Island hydro was at 104% of mean levels.
