NZ and Australian markets up

The New Zealand and Australian stock markets were up on Monday morning.

By 12.40pm, the NZX Top 50 index was up 4 points, or 0.1%, to 3,500 on turnover of $34 million.

The Australian 200 index was up 37 points, or 0.9%, to 4119.

The New Zealand dollar was buying 79.58 US cents, 77,87 Australian cents, 51.15 pence, 63.05 yen and 0.6506 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 72.36.

Fletcher Building was up 6 cents to $6.04, Telecom down 4 cents to $2.51 and Chorus down 5 cents to $3.23.

Auckland International Airport Ltd was up 0.5 cents to $2.525, Contact Energy up 3 cents to $4.85, Cavalier Carpet up 3 cents to $1.54 and Diligent was unchanged at $3.95.

Kathmandu Holdings was up 3 cents to $1,43, Michael Hill up 3 cents to $1.01 and Oceana Gold up 3 cents to $2.40.

Port of Tauranga up 4 cents to $11.30, Skellerup up 1 cent to $1.45, Sky City up 3 cents to $3.49 and Sky TV was down 2 cents to $5.04.

Tower was up 5 cents to $1.65, Trustpower down 2 cents to $7.69 and The Warehouse was unchanged at $2.58.
