Business leaders network as their wheels spin

Business executives from some of Australia's top 200 listed companies are making cycling the new golf and getting fit while networking.

It is proving so popular that 500 business leaders have formed a group called Australian Cycling Executives.

Fuji Xerox chief information officer Craig Gibbons, regularly trades a suit for lycra.

"You can have a great chat while you're on the bike, even though you're exercising and working hard,'' he says.

"There's an awful lot of people now who are in executive positions, and who are cyclists," says Mr Gibbons. "That common interest opens doors".

Organisers expect the group to double in size by the end of the year, when 1000 corporate high fliers will be doing business on the bike.
