Rinehart feud to go to Supreme Court

8:41 am on 23 April 2012

Australia's richest person, Gina Rinehart, has lost her bid to keep the bitter fight over her family's multi-billion-dollar trust out of the Supreme Court.

The ABC reports that Ms Rinehart is fighting three of her four children for control of the trust.

Ms Rinehart's children - John Hancock, Bianca Rinehart and Hope Rinehart Welker - allege she deceived them by changing the vesting date of the multi-billion-dollar trust to 2068 without their permission.

They want their mother removed as head of the trust, alleging she engaged in serious misconduct.

The case will now go ahead in the Supreme Court, but a hearing date has not been set.
