NZ market up at close

The New Zealand market closed higher on Monday.

The NZX 50 rose 23 points to close at 34 72 on turnover of $154 million.

In currency markets the New Zealand dollar was trading at 81.54 US cents, 78.04 Australian cents, 51.46 pence, 67.48 Yen, 0.6155 euro and the The Trade Weighted Index stood at 72.7.

Fletcher Building was up 7 cents to $6.87, Telecom up 2.5 cents to $2.395, Chorus up 7 cents to $3.54 and Contact Energy down 2 cents to $4.61.

Auckland International Airport was up 1 cent to $2.43, Sky City Entertainment unchanged at $3.84, Sky Television Network was up 3 cents to $5.10, Fisher and Paykel Healthcare was up 2 cents to $2.27.

Freightways was up 8 cents to $3.96, Hallenstein Glassons up 11 cents to $3.97 and OceanaGold was up 13 cents to $3.14.

Vector was down 3 cents to $2.67, Trade Me down 3 cents to $3.47 and Cavalier Corporation down 5 cents to $2.07.
