The police are investigating several suspicious fires in Canterbury this afternoon.
The fires occured about 4pm in the Selwyn Riverbed near State Highway 1, north of Dunsandel.
The police were appealing for sightings of a four-wheel-drive vehicle spotted in the area when the fires were first noticed.
