Hawke's Bay DHB warns of fake doctor

8:23 pm on 27 April 2016

A district health board has issued a public warning about a man claiming to be a doctor.

The Hawke's Bay DHB said Christopher Savage had been offering medical treatments around Napier.

It had called in the police and the Ministry of Health over the matter.

The DHB said Mr Savage was saying he was a doctor when he wasn't registered with the Medical Council.

It was urging people not to follow any medical treatment or advice he had offered.

News Corp reported last month that Mr Savage returned to Australia from Bali after local authorities began investigating him.

He was accused of offering medical treatments to help cure children of autism.
