Police have named the man whose body was found near a lake in rural Canterbury.
Marcus Luke Tucker, from Christchurch, was found on Drain Road in Doyleston, south of Christchurch, on Monday morning.
Police believe the body of the 36-year-old may have been there since sometime over the weekend.
Detective Inspector Tom Fitzgerald said the Police National Dive Squad searched Lake Ellesmere today in an effort to widen the search for evidence relating to Mr Tucker's death.
He described the death as tragic.
