The family of a man missing for more than a month say they are concerned for his safety.
David Gilchrist, 34, was last seen in Whangarei on 27 January.
In the past two weeks Mr Gilchrist's bank account has been accessed in Auckland and Thames, and he is believed to be in one of those areas.
A police spokesperson said he could be staying in a backpacker hostel, and anyone who saw him or knew where he was should contact police.
