Firefighters are still dampening down a large bush fire in Auckland.
At its peak yesterday, 13 fire crews, four helicopters and three bulldozers fought the 10ha of burning pine and pampas grass just south of Stillwater, near Whangaparaoa.
A Fire Service spokesperson said its crews left about 6am today but rural firefighters remained at the site.
