The number of people filing medical treatment injury claims with ACC has nearly doubled in four years.
The no-fault claims have gone from 3820 in 2010 to 7014 in 2014.
Medical Association chair Stephen Child it probably represented better reporting rates rather than increased harm to patients, and district health boards received extra funding for the claims.
