A Chinese ice hockey player has been banned for life after being found guilty of intentionally assaulting an opponent with his stick during a domestic game.
Lang Bingyu elbowed the head and neck of Huang Peng, then stabbed the corner of his opponent's mouth, knocking out three teeth and leaving him with 42 stitches in his cheek.
Lang's coach was also banned - until the end of November next year - for not doing more to prevent the incident.
