A security van has been robbed in a McDonald's carpark in Christchurch.
The police say two men assaulted and robbed the security company's staff of an undisclosed amount of money while the van was in the carpark in Harewood, near Christchurch Airport.
Detective Damon Wells says it was lucky no-one was hurt during the robbery.
The police are asking anyone who saw the robbery, or saw a white VW Golf Polo parked in the carpark, or leaving about 11.40am, to contact them.
