Arrests after high-speed police chase in Auckland

1:49 pm on 10 November 2015

Two young men, aged 20 and 17, have been arrested after a police pursuit in Auckland that had to be abandoned because of high speeds.

The police say the pursuit began just before 9am in Papakura, when officers spotted a car that had been stolen in the suburb of New Windsor last night.

They say the pursuit was abandoned when speeds got too high through residential parts of Mt Roskill and Blockhouse Bay.

The police say they were eventually able to spike the tyres of the car, which was found to have stolen goods inside.
