Police in Kerikeri are looking a burglar with a taste for red meat.
The thief or thieves broke into Churchills Fine Meats & Deli in the town's main on Sunday night - and made off with a large quantity of Angus scotch fillet steak, and other cuts, as well as a selection of salami.
They are warning the public that buying stolen meat from criminals could lead to food poisoning.
