Police have seized a stash of drugs from a house a short distance from the Timaru police station.
Cannabis plants in 22 pots were found with a large sack of dried cannabis and a firearm from the house, about 400 metres from the Timaru Central Police Station, after a search warrant was executed about 9am today.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested says the 22 plants were found in a shed on the property.
A 38 year old Timaru man has been arrested and charged with cultivating cannabis and possession of cannabis for supply and is due to appear in Timaru District Court at a later date.
